The Foundation supports children and young people

The aim of the Carl Bechstein Foundation is to promote piano-playing on a broad scale, especially among children and young people. So the Foundation makes piano-playing fun for children and young people.

Pianos for primary schools

The Carl Bechstein Foundation provides selected primary schools with free instruments for piano lessons and practice in cooperation with private and public music schools. Find out more about the Foundation’s collaboration with schools.

Awards and scholarships

The Foundation supports young pianists by awarding prizes and scholarships. In doing so, it collaborates with Jugend musiziert, a piano competition held throughout Germany, thereby boosting young people’s dedication to music in the long term. Carl Bechstein Competition

The Foundation is to hold the first Carl Bechstein Competition for children and young people in November 2014. The event will be devoted to piano duos to encourage children to make music together. Find out more about the competition.
