The Bundesverband Deutscher Privatmusikschulen e.V. (bdpm) is the umbrella organization of approximately 350 music schools and music institutes from all over Germany. Since the founding of the association in 1997, the bdpm has been dedicated to all questions concerning music education. Music schools that meet the quality standards of the bdpm can apply for membership. This gives them the opportunity to gain knowledge for the systematic further development of their own music school. Certified music schools are awarded the seal of quality “Certified music school in the bdpm”. In addition, the bdpm is committed to ensuring a nationwide basic supply of musical offerings and enriches Germany’s cultural landscape by hosting music festivals and competitions.
The bdpm supports the Carl Bechstein Foundation above all in the “Pianos for Elementary Schools” project.
