Making music together for St. Nicholas

A piano from the Carl Bechstein Foundation has been at the Jan Amos Comenius Elementary School in Munich since the fall of 2017. We asked about what has happened at the school since then. The principal, Mrs. Braun-Wolf, wrote us a short résumé:

“The piano has a very nice sound and is also very much appreciated by our two pianists in the building. They give lessons four days a week. We are very happy with the instrument, especially since it expands our possibilities {…} It is used pretty much every day for practicing, for the organization of lessons, choir, theater and concerts of all kinds. We have made “mini-concerts” a regular part of our music lessons. Of course the piano is also used for this purpose.

The piano is often used in our monthly school assemblies, but also provides daily opportunities for the children to play briefly or practice on before class. 40 to 50 children play the piano, some have private lessons outside, but most within our school.”

We are very happy about the great use at this Munich school and wish continuous joy with the instrument!
